What each grade covers.

Trail-Ready

90-Day Limited

For 90 days from the date of purchase, we will repair, at our bench and at our sole discretion, any mechanical defect in the components serviced by us prior to sale.

Covered: Shifting and brake adjustment, wheel truing, headset, bottom bracket and hub adjustment, and failure of any component we replaced or rebuilt before sale.
Remedy: Repair or replacement with a part of equal or comparable value, at our sole discretion. Labor covered only when performed at our shop.

Broken-In

30-Day Limited

Coverage is identical in scope to the Trail-Ready warranty, limited to the shorter term.

Excluded: Cosmetic condition disclosed at the time of sale — scratches, paint chips, decal wear and finish blemishes — is expressly excluded and is reflected in the purchase price.

Project

Sold As-Is

Bicycles graded Project are sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS, WITH ALL FAULTS, with no warranty of any kind. Known defects are documented at the time of sale. Buyer assumes all risk.

Exclusions

Not covered, any grade.

Wear items. Tires, tubes, sealant, brake pads and rotors, chains, cassettes, chainrings, cables, housing, grips, bar tape, saddles, pedals, and bearings after initial break-in.
Damage from crash, impact, drop, jump, misuse, neglect, or failure to maintain.
Damage from racing, competition, rental, commercial, or fleet use.
Damage from assembly, adjustment, or service performed by anyone other than Switchback Cycle Co.
Any modification, part substitution, or electric conversion.
Corrosion, weather exposure, improper storage, or normal deterioration with age and use.
Frames, forks, and suspension internals on any bicycle not originally sold new by us.
Labor, freight, shipping, or transport costs.

Conditions

How a claim works.

Original purchaser only. This warranty is non-transferable and terminates on resale or transfer.
Proof of purchase required. The original receipt must be presented for any claim.
Bring the bike to our shop at your expense and risk. We do not reimburse transport and do not perform warranty work off-site.
Notice within 5 days. You must notify us within 5 days of discovering a defect. Continued riding after a defect appears voids coverage for related damage.
Complimentary first tune-up must be redeemed within 30 days of purchase. Unredeemed, it expires with no cash value.
We reserve the right to inspect the bicycle and to determine, in our sole discretion, whether a claim falls within these terms. Our determination is final.

General terms

The fine print.

Sole and exclusive remedy. Repair or replacement as described above is your sole and exclusive remedy. No refunds, returns, credits, or cash equivalents are offered under this warranty.

Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Switchback Cycle Co. shall not be liable for any incidental, consequential, indirect, or punitive damages, including personal injury, property damage, lost time, or loss of use. Our total liability shall not exceed the purchase price paid for the bicycle.

Disclaimer. Except as expressly stated above, and to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, all other warranties, express or implied — including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose — are disclaimed. Any implied warranty that cannot lawfully be disclaimed is limited in duration to the warranty period stated above.

Assumption of risk. Cycling carries an inherent risk of serious injury or death. You are responsible for wearing a helmet, inspecting the bicycle before each ride, and riding within your ability and applicable law.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico. Venue for any dispute lies in Bernalillo County, New Mexico.

Switchback Cycle Co. reserves the right to amend these terms at any time. The terms in effect on the date of purchase apply.
